How to delete your Glimsy account

Last updated: 31 August 2026

This page explains two methods to request deletion of your Glimsy account, and what is deleted and what is retained when the account goes.

The data controller and owner of the application is GLIMSY sp. z o.o., ul. Zapłocie Duże 223A, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała, Poland. Contact: support@glimsy.app

Method 1 — Delete your account in the app (automatic)

  • Open the Glimsy app and sign in.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Scroll to the bottom and select Delete account.
  • Confirm the action. The deletion process will start automatically.

Important: You must be connected to the internet for this method to work.

Deletion usually completes within a dozen or so seconds; in some cases it may take up to a few hours.

Method 2 — Request account deletion by email (manual verification)

You can request deletion by sending an email to:

support@glimsy.app

Please use the following email subject:

Request to delete account

In the email body, include:

  • the email address associated with the account you want to delete,
  • (optional) any additional information that helps identify the account (e.g. display name).

Within up to two weeks, our team will send a confirmation email to the provided address to verify that the request is legitimate (to prevent impersonation). If you reply and confirm within a reasonable time, we will delete the account.

What is deleted

The following are deleted: the account in the authentication service; the user document together with settings, subscription data, the AI credit pool, gamification data, the device register and the action register; all decks together with their flashcards, answer history and study sessions; the content of conversations with the AI assistant and its memory; media metadata; all of the user's files in cloud storage, including images, audio files and files submitted to the AI features.

The full enumeration is in section 12 of the Privacy Policy.

What is retained, and for how long

Some records must survive account deletion — either the law requires it, or they protect against abuse that deleting an account must not be able to erase. This applies in particular to accounting documentation, the register of AI feature failures connected with refund requests, the records used to defend against payment disputes, and security events.

The retention periods and legal bases for each of those categories are enumerated in section 11 of the Privacy Policy, and the list of records that remain after account deletion in section 12. We do not repeat them here so that the two places cannot drift apart over time.

Deleting the account in the application does not delete data held by Stripe in connection with purchases made — for that, please apply directly to Stripe (point 6.4 of the Privacy Policy).

Data held only on the device — the local database of decks and flashcards, application settings and the local journal of AI feature failures — disappears when the application is uninstalled or its data is cleared. In the web version it is removed by clearing browser data for the application's domain.
